OOver 230 million people in India go to bed every night hungry. We experience this first hand as we visit various villages and slums of India. Millions of children’s lives are at stake. Many are forced to beg on the street, and or into child labor. There are incidents where parents sell their children for money.

Somini Sengupta of the New York Times reveals the shocking reality of the malnutrition and hunger problem in India:

  • World Food Program reports that India remained home to more than a fourth of the world’s hungry, 230 million people in all.
  • While India runs the largest child feeding program in the world, experts agree it is inadequately designed, and has made barely a dent in the ranks of sick children in the past 10 years.
  • 42.5% of the children under 5 are underweight, a critical gauge of malnutrition.
  • Child malnutrition rates are worse in India than in many sub-Saharan African countries.

Through our Feed The Hungry outreach, we focus on feeding both children and adults. This may be the only good meal they have in many days. It is truly a joy to see the children so happy, simply enjoying a meal. We value human dignity and treat these people with respect. We intentionally create a great atmosphere for them to come and enjoy our ministry as well as the food that is provided for them.

$2 can provide a nutritious hot meal to a person in need.  Your $5 provides rice, a hard boiled egg, dal curry, a mixed vegetable curry and dessert. You can sponsor a meal now by selecting one of the options below.
